Whose son/daughter are you ??
John 8:39-47 
Jesus has a special engagement and confrontation with the Pharisees in trying to declare their true identity. These sons of Jews had a different view from what God views His sons are . 
Christ being the first born of God knew and had the exact DNA of God so you could lecture him on who and How Gods sons looks like. 
The Pharisees claimed that Abraham is their father, However the characters of Abraham and them totally differed . The Bible says that in Vs 40 they sought to kill jesus because of telling them the truth, which was not the case with Abraham . These people cheated on their fathered . Their measure was totally different from what God saw. They carried self righteousness. They claimed that even they were not even born out of immorality . But what does that guarantee them being sons of God through Abraham . Noo.
Generally, a son will behave like his father, A well fathered son will be like His father . Abraham had set a phase . God Himself fathered Christ . So what does it look like to be a son of God.
Jesus empahis was on truth . Like the truth . He claims that the sons of devil will like lies, murderers and carry the characters of devil . 
Our behaviour and character will determine whose children are we . Either of God or satan . Self righteousness will come to an end but the righteousness of Christ will be witnessed like a light to the world . 
Don't tell men God looks at the heart for the heart is God , men will need to see your actions and will truly determine what kind of son you are and what kind of father do you have . 
Pharisees claimed Abraham is there father but totally their actions were different from what Abraham advocated for and stood for . 
Whoever is of God hears the word of God, The reason why you do not hear them is because you are not of God.
